All 19 teams qualified for Worlds 2026
LPL – China
- Anyone’s Legend
- Bilibili Gaming
- Top Esports
- Invictus Gaming
China again sends four teams. Anyone’s Legend enters the initial Swiss draw in Tier 1, while Bilibili Gaming, Top Esports and Invictus Gaming are seeded into Tiers 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
LCK – Korea
- Gen.G
- Hanwha Life Esports
- T1
- Dplus Kia
The LCK also has four teams. Gen.G receives a Tier 1 Swiss seed, Hanwha Life is Tier 2, defending world champion T1 is Tier 3 and Dplus Kia is Tier 4.
T1’s title defense is one of the central storylines. The team beat KT Rolster 3-2 in the 2025 Worlds final and now returns looking to retain the Summoner’s Cup.
Hanwha Life has another major international result behind it after beating Bilibili Gaming 3-2 in the MSI 2026 final.
LEC – EMEA
- G2 Esports
- Movistar KOI
- Karmine Corp
G2 enters as the top EMEA seed after sweeping Movistar KOI 3-0 in the LEC final. Riot placed G2 in Tier 1 for the initial Swiss draw and Movistar KOI in Tier 3.
Karmine Corp has a different route. KC is one of the four Play-In teams and must survive the Los Angeles bracket to reach Swiss.
LCS – North America
- Team Liquid Alienware
- LYON
- Cloud9 Kia
Team Liquid enters as North America’s top seed after beating LYON 3-1 in the LCS final on October 4.
Liquid is a Tier 1 Swiss seed, LYON is Tier 3 and Cloud9 starts in the Play-In Stage.
Frag covered the final qualification picture in our LCS Championship Weekend preview.
LCP – Asia Pacific
- Team Secret Whales
- CTBC Flying Oyster
- MVK Esports
Team Secret Whales enters Swiss in Tier 2 and CTBC Flying Oyster in Tier 4.
MVK Esports starts in Play-Ins and must win the Los Angeles bracket to join the 16-team Swiss field.
CBLOL – Brazil
- FURIA
- LOS
Both Brazilian teams have qualified, but their exact Worlds starting points will not be known until the CBLOL final on October 10.
The winner takes the direct Swiss place and is seeded into Tier 2. The runner-up joins Karmine Corp, Cloud9 and MVK Esports in the Play-In Stage.
That makes FURIA vs LOS the final regional result that materially changes the Worlds bracket before the tournament begins.
How the Worlds 2026 Play-In Stage works
The Play-In Stage runs October 15-18 at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles.
Four teams compete:
- Karmine Corp
- Cloud9 Kia
- MVK Esports
- CBLOL runner-up – FURIA or LOS
The bracket uses double elimination and every match is best-of-five.
The opening matchups are not seeded. Riot will conduct a fully random draw after the CBLOL final on October 10, which means any of the four teams can be paired against any other team.
Only one team survives the bracket.
That winner takes the final place in the 16-team Swiss Stage.
Play-In broadcast days begin at 11 AM PDT, which is 8 PM CEST for European viewers. The opening days include multiple best-of-five series.
How the Swiss Stage works
The Swiss Stage runs October 23-31 in Allen, Texas.
Sixteen teams begin the stage. Teams play opponents with matching records and continue until they either reach three wins or three losses.
- Three match wins – advance to the Knockout Stage
- Three match losses – eliminated
- Round 1 – best-of-one
- Later qualification and elimination matches – best-of-three
The first-round draw is structured into four tiers.
Tier 1
- Gen.G
- Anyone’s Legend
- Team Liquid Alienware
- G2 Esports
Tier 2
- CBLOL champion – FURIA or LOS
- Team Secret Whales
- Hanwha Life Esports
- Bilibili Gaming
Tier 3
- LYON
- Movistar KOI
- T1
- Top Esports
Tier 4
- CTBC Flying Oyster
- Invictus Gaming
- Dplus Kia
- Play-In winner
Tier 1 teams are drawn against Tier 4 teams, while Tier 2 teams face Tier 3 teams.
Same-region matchups are blocked in Round 1. From Round 2 onward, teams with the same record are paired randomly, regional rematches become possible and repeat opponents are not allowed during Swiss.
The initial Swiss draw takes place after Play-Ins conclude on October 18.
Worlds 2026 Swiss schedule
The Swiss Stage has two blocks in Allen.
- October 23 – Round 1
- October 24 – Round 2
- October 25-26 – Round 3
- October 28-30 – Rounds 4 and 5 qualification or elimination series
- October 31 – final Swiss matches
For European viewers, Riot lists 7 PM CEST starts on October 23-24, 6 PM CET on October 25-26, 9 PM CET on October 28-30 and 6 PM CET on October 31.
By the end of October 31, the field will be reduced from 16 teams to eight.
How the Worlds 2026 Knockout Stage works
The eight Swiss survivors move into a single-elimination best-of-five bracket.
Quarterfinals and semifinals remain at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen.
- November 3 – quarterfinal
- November 4 – quarterfinal
- November 5 – quarterfinal
- November 6 – quarterfinal
- November 7 – semifinal
- November 8 – semifinal
The quarterfinal draw is scheduled for November 1.
The two teams that finish Swiss 3-0 will each be drawn against a 3-2 team. The other four teams are then drawn into the remaining two quarterfinals.
Every knockout series is best-of-five, so one loss ends a team’s Worlds run.
Quarterfinals and semifinals begin at 4 PM local time in Texas, which Riot lists as 11 PM CET.
Worlds 2026 final in Brooklyn
The tournament moves from Texas to New York for the grand final on November 14.
Barclays Center in Brooklyn hosts the final, with the series scheduled to begin at 2 PM EST – 8 PM CET.
The best-of-five decides the 2026 world champion and closes a month-long North American Worlds run.
Riot is also hosting a Worlds Fan Fest at Pier 36 in Lower Manhattan from November 12-14, giving the final weekend a second League-focused event outside the arena.
Teams and storylines to watch
T1 defends the world title
T1 enters as the reigning world champion after beating KT Rolster 3-2 in the 2025 final.
Unlike a top regional seed, T1 starts the 2026 Swiss draw in Tier 3. That creates the possibility of a difficult Round 1 opponent immediately, including one of the Tier 2 teams.
The title defense therefore begins with less protection than the team’s championship history might suggest.
Hanwha Life enters as MSI champion
Hanwha Life won MSI 2026 by beating Bilibili Gaming 3-2 in the final.
That gives HLE the MSI title heading into Worlds. Riot places the team in Tier 2 for Swiss, so its opening opponent will come from Tier 3.
Gen.G, Anyone’s Legend, Team Liquid and G2 get Tier 1 status
Riot’s Swiss seeding places Gen.G, Anyone’s Legend, Team Liquid and G2 Esports together in Tier 1.
That guarantees each team a Tier 4 opponent in the opening round and avoids a same-region matchup.
For Team Liquid and G2, it gives the top North American and EMEA seeds a more protected starting point than several famous Asian teams, including T1, HLE, BLG and TES.
Play-Ins will eliminate three teams before Swiss
The new four-team Play-In bracket is unforgiving.
Karmine Corp, Cloud9, MVK Esports and the CBLOL runner-up all arrive at Worlds, but only one reaches the main 16-team Swiss field.
Because every match is best-of-five and the bracket is double elimination, teams have room to recover from one loss, but three of the four will still leave Los Angeles before the tournament reaches Texas.
How to watch Worlds 2026 on Frag

The next major update comes on October 10, when FURIA and LOS play the CBLOL final and Riot draws the four-team Play-In bracket. Worlds itself begins October 15 in Los Angeles and ends November 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
