BLAST Open Porto 2026 is underway, with 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams fighting for six playoff places and a share of the $1.1 million prize pool. The group stage runs from August 26-31 in Copenhagen before the surviving teams move to Porto for the arena playoffs from September 4-6.

The tournament starts with two eight-team double-elimination groups. Three teams from each group qualify for Porto. Winning a group is especially valuable because the group winner skips the playoff quarterfinals and advances directly to the semifinals.

How the BLAST Open Porto bracket works

The 16 teams are split into two groups of eight. Each group uses a double-elimination bracket, meaning an upper-bracket loss does not immediately end a team’s tournament.

Every group-stage series is best-of-three. The three best teams from each group qualify for the Porto playoffs:

• Group winner – advances directly to the semifinal
• Group runner-up – advances to the quarterfinal
• Group third place – advances to the quarterfinal

That leaves six teams in the arena playoff bracket.

The Porto playoffs then switch to single elimination. The two quarterfinal winners advance to face the two group winners in the semifinals. The semifinal winners meet in a best-of-five grand final on September 6.

Group A storylines

Spirit entered this event with the strongest recent momentum after beating FUT Esports 3-1 in the EWC Grand Final. Their opening Porto run has continued that form, including a clean 2-0 win over G2.

FURIA are another team worth following closely. Their tournament began with a 2-0 win over paiN, and their route through the bracket puts them among the teams capable of reaching Porto without having to survive a long lower-bracket run. You can review the earlier FURIA vs paiN match on Frag.

NAVI’s lower-bracket recovery also keeps one of the tournament’s biggest names alive. Their next elimination matches become increasingly important because one more loss means the end of their BLAST Open run.

Group B storylines

Group B opened with the tournament’s biggest surprise so far when Inner Circle beat Vitality 2-0. Vitality avoided elimination by responding against 9z, but the early loss means their route to Porto is much less comfortable than expected.

MOUZ have been far more stable. They opened with a 2-0 win over 9z and followed it by beating Inner Circle 2-0, putting themselves in a strong position in the upper bracket.

Legacy also started with a clean 2-0 victory over FUT Esports, while Falcons needed three maps to get past Lynn Vision. The remaining Group B matches will decide which three teams join the Porto playoff field.

The quarterfinals and semifinals are best-of-three. The grand final expands to a best-of-five series.

BLAST Open Porto prize pool

BLAST lists a total tournament prize pool of $1.1 million, split between player prize money and club shares.

The winning team receives $150,000 in player prize money plus a $100,000 club share. Second place receives $60,000 plus a $100,000 club share, with additional payouts extending through all 16 participating teams.

What happens next?

The immediate race is for the six Porto playoff places. Every upper-bracket win shortens the route to the arena, while every lower-bracket match is now an elimination series.

Once the group stage ends on August 31, the bracket will be reduced from 16 teams to six. The two group winners will already be in the semifinals, while four teams will have to survive the September 4 quarterfinals.
