Counter-Strike 2 has arrived at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris, and 32 of the best rosters on the planet are fighting for a $2,000,000 prize pool. The MongolZ walk in as defending champions – and this year they’ve got Team Vitality, Team Spirit, Team Falcons, Natus Vincere, and last year’s runner-up Aurora Gaming standing in the way.
Here’s everything you need to know to follow the action, plus where to catch every match live.
CS2 EWC 2026 – key dates
- Group Stage: August 12-16
- Playoffs: August 19-23
- Venue: Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, with the grand final at Accor Arena
Format
The group stage runs as a GSL bracket across four groups of eight teams. Opening matches are best-of-one, with every match after that played best-of-three. The top four teams from each group move on to the playoffs.
Playoffs are single-elimination – best-of-three all the way through, except for the grand final, which is a best-of-five.
Teams to watch
The MongolZ – defending champions, back with a slightly reshuffled roster and looking to become the first team to win back-to-back EWC titles.
Team Vitality – ZywOo, flameZ, mezii, ropz, and apEX arrive as one of the most consistent rosters in the world right now.
Team Falcons – NiKo and company are still chasing their first EWC trophy after finishing as runners-up last year.
Team Spirit – donk and sh1ro headline a roster that’s been near the top of every major bracket this year.
Natus Vincere – b1t and Aleksib lead NAVI into Paris looking to add an EWC title to the trophy case.
Aurora Gaming – last year’s runner-up returns with XANTARES and woxic, hunting redemption.
Other rosters to keep an eye on include MOUZ, FUT Esports, 3DMAX, BetBoom Team, PARIVISION, TYLOO, M80, and Wildcard, all of whom qualified through the VRS circuit or the Last Chance Qualifier.
